They will delve into the updated UT Austin organizational structure and provide insights into both current and upcoming projects across the UT Austin campuses. Panelists Include:
Dan Cook
Executive Director of Planning, Design and Construction at the University of Texas at Austin
Dan Cook leads a team responsible for design, construction, project management, contracting, and construction operations at the main and supported campuses. In addition to focusing on design delivery and construction services, he also guides his team in planning initiatives that align with the university’s strategic goals. Before joining the University in 2021, he had a distinguished career in the U.S. Navy, serving in command positions and as a senior executive in the facilities department. Originally from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Science degree in Construction Engineering and Management from Purdue University. He is also a Registered Architect in the state of Texas. Throughout his career, he has been recognized with several awards for his performance, including the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Urbahn Medal, and Moreell Medal from the Society of American Military Engineers for his distinguished contributions.

Amanda Barber
Director of Project Management, at the University of Texas at Austin
Amanda Barber oversees more than 60 project managers and is responsible for managing $2.5 billion in capital projects across the university campus. Before joining the University of Texas, Amanda served as a Navy Civil Engineer Corps officer for 23 years, where she held facility construction project and program manager positions across the globe's most desirable locations including China Lake, CA (where there are no actual lakes); Fallon, NV; Bahrain; and Afghanistan. These locations allowed her to fully appreciate other tours such as New Orleans, D.C., Corpus Christi, and San Diego, and deepened her love for America in general and central Texas in particular. Amanda is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
