Moving Further East - The Changing Landscape of East Austin’s Industrial Redevelopment

Austin has grown a lot in recent years – and the East Side has seen tremendous change. This trend continues as commercial real estate firms focus on redeveloping industrial sites in East Austin to transform them into mixed-use complexes including residential units, office buildings, hospitality, and retail. The draw is large swathes of land near the Colorado River and downtown Austin. The challenges included environmental concerns and a long timely rezoning process.

Come hear Michael Hang with Kairoi Residential discuss their Bolm West development. Mr. Hang will provide an overview of the planning and rezoning process of what was once a concrete and asphalt manufacturing plant east of Highway 183. Kairoi has grand plans to redevelop this 71-acre industrial site into a mixed-use complex as growth continues further East of Austin.

Following the Bolm West Redevelopment presentation, Broker DeLea Becker, "Queen of East Austin" and owner of Beck-Reit Commercial Real Estate will lead a discussion on development opportunities and trends pushing further East through the expansion of the 183 corridor, as well as share her insights on the East Austin submarket.
