The government is the largest buyer in the world; the government procures everything from beans to bullets. As a small business, selling your products and services to the various government agencies is one of the easiest things you can do! During this professional development opportunity, the presenter will cover who are the players and how to play the game, what to expect, finding your buyer, and how to market to government buyers. This training will provide you with tools that you can use today!

Since June of 2007, Cheryl Brown has been a Program Advisor II with the North San Diego SBDC (Small Business Development Center) as a Subject Matter Expert in Government
Procurement; providing assistance with certifications, registrations, proposal writing, marketing, and developing capabilities statements. She has counseled over 3,000 small businesses resulting in over $800,000,000 awarded contracts with local, state, and federal agencies. As a small business owner herself, she brings a practical application approach to counseling focusing on moving small businesses forward every step of the way to achieve their goals. Mrs. Brown’s personal mission statement: helping small business owners create a better life for their families and the families they employ through government contracting.
In 2018, Mrs. Brown received a Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurship and in 2019 graduated with an MBA from Ashford University. Her academic achievements include membership in
Sigma Beta Delta, Golden Key, and Alpha Sigma Lambda; as well as awarded the Forbes School of Business and Technology Entrepreneurship Scholarship: https://www.ashford.edu/online-learning-experience/student-success-stories/cheryl-brown. Mrs. Brown is also a certified Small Business Consultant from the Association of Accredited Small Business Consultants, a Certified Kauffman FrastTrac Facilitator, and a Certified Technology Commercialization Advisor from the Institute for Technology Commercialization.
Mrs. Brown has been awarded the 2018 SBA District Director’s Award for Mission Support, 2012 ASBDC State Star for the San Diego & Imperial SBDC Network, the 2010 SBA Women in
Business Champion, as well as certificates of recognition from Assemblymembers, Senators, Members of Congress, and San Diego County Supervisors for her success and dedication to the small business community.
